Catherine Do

  • Senior, Class of 2021

  • Human Biology, B.S. Major with Dance Minor

  • President of M.E.M.O at USC

Hey guys! My name is Catherine and I’m from Orange County. I’ve miraculously survived three years as a pre-med but I still don’t know what type of doctor I want to be. Cardiology and dermatology have always been pretty high on the list though. Some of my involvements at USC include director of VSA’s Vietnamese Culture Night, undergraduate researcher in Dr. Goodman’s molecular biology and Dr. Zhang’s neuroscience labs, and study abroad student in Melbourne Australia, although that last one wasn’t technically at USC. Onto the fun stuff, I enjoy dancing, listening to music, cooking/baking, and going out to eat and drink unhealthy amounts of food and boba. My favorite music genres range from chill EDM to classical music to KPOP and as for shows, I like kdramas, cooking/baking competitions, and some American TV dramas. Random fun fact: I worked at Starbucks so if you want any recommendations I got you. Whether you like having a chill night in Netflixing and eating take out or going out for Korean bbq and late-night jam sessions at the beach, I’m down for it. Super excited to get to know all of you!

Angelina Shao

  • Senior, Class of 2021

  • Quantitative Biology Major with Business Finance Minor

  • Vice President of M.E.M.O at USC

Hi everyone! I’m Angelina Shao, a senior from Portland, OR. I love traveling, watching TV (Kdramas, sitcoms, anything witty really), sleeping, baking, playing music, and most of all, eating, so if you wanna go out for some good Korean bbq in Koreatown, or just on a walk for some boba, I’m down! I also love playing tennis and going on hikes and camping (I miss Portland, haha). I’m a pre-med in Quantitative Biology (sounds more complicated than it is) with a minor in Business Finance. To be quite honest, it took me a long time to figure out what I wanted to do, so I’m always down for a conversation about career crises! I was involved in molecular biology research in the Chiolo lab on campus and cancer research off-campus as well, and am currently in the Goodman lab working with DNA sequencing analysis. I was studying abroad in the Netherlands last semester until COVID-19 hit, but I did manage to squeeze in a few trips to Austria and Germany! I’m also in clubs like Remedy Through Music (if you sing or play an instrument, I'd highly recommend!) and USC Makers, and I volunteer at the Orthopedic Institute for Children, as well as shadow at the LAC+USC hospital. Always down to chill and I’m super excited to meet all of you!

Yunsun Eoh

  • Sophomore, Class of 2023

  • Biological Science, B.S. Major with Health Care Studies Minor

  • Administrative Director of M.E.M.O at USC

Hi, y’all! My name is Yunsun Eoh, a sophomore from New York, NY (East Side represent!). I am also a pre-med student, majoring in biological sciences with a health care studies minor. At the end of this long pre-med journey, I hope to become a pediatrician or a neonatologist but, sadly, that is far in the future. For now, I relieve my stress from long study nights by feeding my unhealthy hot Cheetos and Cheez-it addiction and putting on a good show. My favorite shows consist of K-dramas, cooking/baking shows, and any Netflix classics. Aside from being a couch potato, I love going on hikes and exploring downtown LA and Koreatown. I also find great pleasure in cooking meals, mostly consisting of Korean food, and baking treats for my friends and family. I also find it a necessity to go running and swimming in order to prevent myself from becoming a blob. I am currently an undergraduate researcher in the Ichida Lab at HSC in the stem cell department researching neurodegeneration in ALS disease. I am also a COPE Health Scholar volunteering at CHMC Hospital in downtown LA. Since I’ve only just started my pre-med journey, I would love to find some great friends to make it more enjoyable. If anyone is in need of someone to join late-night study sessions, go on hikes in the mountains, enjoy fun beach days, and/or become a buddy to find great restaurants in LA, I’d totally be down. I’m also always around to listen and help to the best of my abilities if you’d like to talk about things that are troubling you! Can’t wait to meet y’all!

Connor Mukai

  • Sophomore, Class of 2023

  • Biological Science, B.S. Major

  • Finance Director of M.E.M.O at USC

Hey you guys! My name is Connor Mukai and I am a current sophomore from Honolulu, Hawaii.  I am a pre-med student with a major in biological sciences and a health care studies minor. I really love a lot of things, such as my two dogs and hiking! I love going outdoors and living an active lifestyle to balance out all of the intense studying and work that the pre-med life is all about. Besides exercise, I love a lot of books and movies; I’m currently reading “We Have Always Lived in the Castle!” Its a really scary book, set up like a murder mystery and I highly recommend it! My favorite movies are Studio Ghibli movies (I grew up watching them and love them all to death!) but I have a fondness for Princess Mononoke! I enjoy the Great British Bake Off and love to explore baked goods! I really like all of the pastries in Los Angeles and love to explore the city; if you want to hang out and get some food, I would love to hang out! I love Japanese foods and Korean foods, the only thing I don’t really like is creamy foods (alfredo…. Yuck!) Currently I am researching under the Hong lab at HSC, where we study the lymphatic system. I am also a COPE health scholar at California Hospital Medical Center, currently volunteering in the telemetry floor. I am always happy to talk to anyone if they want to hold a study session or if you want some company! I’m very excited to meet everyone!

Trang Trinh

  • Junior, Class of 2022

  • Neuroscience, B.S. Major with Health Care Studies Minor

  • Sponsorship Director of M.E.M.O at USC

Hello! My name is Trang Trinh and am from Orange County. In my free time, I enjoy partaking in outdoor activities, such as hiking, as well as other hobbies, such as reading, shopping, and listening to music. I tend to listen to acoustic or jazzy songs, such as the type you hear at coffee shops, because they put me in a good mood and are great de-stressors. Additionally, I have a significant love for food, especially Asian cuisines. Whether it be main entrees, desserts, or just refreshing drinks, I’m all for it. Aside from my hobbies, my future aspiration is to become either a Neurologist or Emergency Medicine doctor. After extensive research and personal experience, I have built a strong passion and interest in neurology, especially in regards to neurodegenerative diseases, and the fast-paced, intensive atmosphere of the emergency room. Aside from the big picture, it is a personal goal of mine to be able to travel the world with my loved ones, live gratefully and kindly,  and appreciate the little things about life. In order to strive towards this goal, I am an E-Board officer in organizations, such as MEMO and APAMSA. I am also the Assistant Director of Alumni of COPE Health Solutions at St. Joseph Hospital of Orange. Lastly, I am involved in clinical research at the Social Neuroscience in Health Psychology lab, which evaluates how health and socioeconomic factors could affect brain function and mental health. I am excited to meet everyone!
